Mrs Val Waterhouse - Chairman
Val has been the Chairman of North East Lincolnshire PCT since its formation in April 2000 and has held a range of senior non-executive posts continuously since joined the NHS in the early 1990s.
Outside of the PCT, she is Managing Director of ICF, a Grimsby based company that produces high visibility safety products across the UK. It was in this role that won her the prestigious National Business Woman of the Year award in 1991.
Specialising in marketing and promotion, Val has many other local interests with a particular focus on regeneration and partnership working in North East Lincolnshire. She is Chair of the EDE and sits as a Board Member of the local Training and Enterprise Council.
Val was born in Birmingham and grew up in Canada prior to settling in Cleethorpes a number of years ago.
Mrs Jane Lewington - Chief Executive
Jane became the inaugural Chief Executive of the Care Trust Plus in September 2007. Immediately prior to this she was the Chief Executive of North East Lincolnshire Primary Care Trust for seven years.
Born and bred in the North East Lincolnshire area, Jane brings to her post a wealth of NHS experience having previously held senior executive posts in acute hospitals, community services, mental health and learning disability.
Dr Peter Melton - Chairman, Executive Committee
Dr Peter Melton is another native of North East Lincolnshire having been born and raised in Cleethorpes. He was educated at St Mary’s and Wintringham schools before attending medical school in London.
Returning to the local area in 1991, Peter became a GP Partner at the Roxton practice in Immingham following two years as a Junior Doctor at the Diana Princess of Wales Hospital, Grimsby.
As well as remaining a practicing GP in Immingham, Peter held the position of PEC Chair for seven years with the former PCT and now holds the same position in the Care Trust Plus.
Dr Melton sits on a number of national advisory groups.
Mrs Cathy Kennedy - Deputy Chief Executive / Director of Finance
Cathy joined the NHS following university in 1985 as a Regional Finance Trainee. She came to the locality twelve years later, when she took up the post of Director of Finance at Scunthorpe & Goole General Hospitals NHS Trust. In August 2000, she moved to North East Lincolnshire PCT, where she was initially Director of Finance and Commissioning and more recently as Director of Finance and Performance.
She became the Deputy Chief Executive / Director of Finance of the Care Trust Plus in September 2007.
Cathy is a mum to two children and in her spare time she and her husband are gradually renovating their 250 years old home near Gainsborough.
Dr Tony Hill - Executive Director of Public Health , North East Lincolnshire Council and North East Lincolnshire Care Trust Plus
A former hospital doctor and general practitioner, Dr. Hill became a public health consultant with Somerset Health Authority in 1987. Dr. Hill commenced his post as Director of Public Health at South Humber Health Authority in 1996. In March 2002, he became the joint Director of Public Health for North East Lincolnshire Primary Care Trust and North Lincolnshire Primary Care Trust. He also held the additional post of Medical Director of Northern Lincolnshire and Goole Hospitals NHS Trust for a period during this time.
Dr Hill commenced his post as Executive Director of Public Health for both North East Lincolnshire Council and North East Lincolnshire Care Trust Plus in April 2007. This is the first such joint appointment between a local authority and NHS trust in the country and reflects the innovative approach in North East Lincolnshire to addressing the wider determinants of health and wellbeing.
