Publication of Equality Information

In the North East Lincolnshire area, we are committed to publishing information that demonstrates our compliance with the Public Sector Equality Duty.  The information published here includes, in particular:

·         information relating to people who share relevant protected characteristics that are affected by our policies and practices, and

·         information relating to our employees.

Equality Objectives

We are currently in the process of preparing one or more equality objective that will meet one or more aims of the general equality duty.  Our objective(s) will be published here by 6 April 2012.

As an organisation and as an employer, we aim to treat people as individuals in accordance with their personal needs.

Our organisational objectives include:

~ Elimination of all unlawful discrimination.
~ Promotion of equal opportunties.
~ Promotion of good relations between different people, regardless of their status.

In partnership with local communities and other local organisations in the health and social care sector, we aim to reduce inequalities in health.

As a commissioner of health and social care services, we work with other health and social care providers and contractors to ensure that valuing diversity and promoting fair access to services are core elements of care and that full consideration is given to all equalities issues when planning or redesigning services and when assessing the health needs of our local population.

As an employer, we recognise and value people as individuals and accommodate differences wherever possible by making adjustments to working arrangements or practices.

We have developed policies and action plans in relation to equalities issues.
