Just a few examples of how your local PALS service may be able to help you:
- PALS can ask for clarification from a health professional, for example, if you are not sure what your doctor has told you.
- PALS can also help you with information about other non-NHS services like housing, voluntary services etc. They may not be able to solve these problems but they can tell you the right person to contact or contact them on your behalf if you prefer.
- They can act as a go-between for you if, for example, you want to ask the consultant if you can have the transport to an appointment
- PALS can refer you for advice on making a complaint.
- If you do contact the wrong PALS service do not worry as they will take down your query and liaise with the appropriate PALS service. You will not be passed from pillar to post.
If you are not sure if PALS can help, please feel free to ask.
