Fashion show with a message

The Cancer Collaborative of the North East Lincolnshire Care Trust Plus (CTP) held a fashion show supported by Lincs Fashions on Monday, November 2 at Trinity Church Hall, Immingham.

Around 90 people attended the event. The collaborative used it as an opportunity to raise the awareness of various cancers and highlighted the early symptoms to look out for.

Julie Grimmer, programmer manager, said: “The event was a huge success and it was very encouraging to see the number of people that turned up. Working with teams within the community helps to raise awareness about the importance of detecting symptoms early.

“Anyone who wishes to join the programme can do so as a volunteer and help out as much or as little as they like.”

Community team members from the Immingham team, which promotes the awareness of bowel cancer and the bowel cancer screening programme, were available throughout the evening to answer questions and offer non-medical advice.
