Fashion show with a message

The North East Lincolnshire Care Trust Plus Cancer Collaborative is holding a fashion show as part of Prostate Cancer Awareness month.

The fashion show will take place at 2pm on Tuesday, March 30, at St Giles Church Hall, Scartho. Tickets for the event cost  £3 (includes refreshments) and are available from the Cancer Collaborative office at Second Avenue Resource Centre, Nunsthorpe.

Julie Grimmer, cancer project manager for the CTP, said: “As part of the event we are encouraging wives and partners to encourage their male relatives to be checked out at the earliest opportunity if they display any symptoms of prostate cancer. It is often women that make the doctors appointments for men.

“It is also important for men to recognise the signs and symptoms of prostate cancer and to seek help early from their GP.  Early detection can save lives.”

Community team members from the Hainton and Heneage team, which promotes the awareness of cancer and cancer screening programmes, will be available throughout the afternoon to answer questions and offer non-medical advice.

The fashion show is being supported by Lincs Fashions, which sell chain store clothing at discounted prices.
