Two of the Care Trust Plus older people’s health and wellbeing programme social clubs got together recently to enjoy afternoon tea.
The groups from South Grange St Pius and Laceby went along to the Blue Café, Alford Nurseries to spend the afternoon together.
Gladys Hindle, a community team member from the programme, said:”The idea came from the team to get together for afternoon tea and have some fun.”
The event was the first occasion that the programme staff had presented afternoon tea on such a large scale.
Margaret Pykett, also a community team member, said: “We all had a great time and were treated really well by the staff. They provided us with a delightful selection of food and fancies.”
There are a variety of other events happening during the course of the year as part of the programme as well as the regularly weekly meetings. The social clubs, for the over 50s, are always looking for new members.
There are currently seven clubs which run across North East Lincolnshire with more planned for the future. Residents wanting further information about the social clubs or the older people’s collaborative should ring Martin Wakefield on (01472) 232267.
