If you or someone you care for becomes ill or injured out of normal GP opening hours it is important to choose the right service for your needs. Your local Hospital Accident & Emergency service is not always the quickest or best place for you to go.
Pharmacies can treat common illnesses and GP’s (Doctors) are on call 24 hours a day. Whether you need to know where your nearest pharmacy is, think you might need to see a GP or if you’re unsure and need any advice please call your local NHS health advice line on (01472) 256222.
If you or someone else is seriously ill or badly injured please call the emergency services on 999.
There are also some extra services to help you:
A walk-in health centre called Quayside is available if you need to see a nurse or GP urgently and are unable to attend your own GP surgery or health centre.
The Quayside Medical Centre is on Cleethorpe Road, next to the Grimsby Telegraph and is open from 10am - 3pm every day including weekends and bank holidays.
Rapid Response is a team of Nurses, Social Workers and Therapists who respond to health and social crises in the community. They also care for people and support their families during the end stages of life. The team is available 24 hours every day and can be contacted on (01472) 256 256. Any person in need or their friends, family or connected professionals may access this service.
Please download the Choose well leaflet for further information on all services.
