What is Emergency Planning?

Emergencies happen almost every minute of every day. The emergency services deal with incidents like traffic accidents, fires, medical emergencies or incidents in the waters of the Humber very quickly and efficiently.

Sometimes a more disastrous event happens. These large emergencies are often called 'Major Incidents'. They can have a huge effect on people’s lives or the environment.  By planning ahead it is possible to reduce the effects and lessen the impact such events can cause.

In North East Lincolnshire, the Care Trust Plus works closely with North East Lincolnshire Council, Northern Lincolnshire & Goole Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, East Midlands Ambulance Service NHS Trust, Humberside Police and the other emergency services to coordinate the response to such incidents.

A document known as ‘The Humber Community Risk Register’ has details on what risks have been assessed in the Humber area by each of the responding agencies and advice on what the community and business can do to prepare in advance.  See link to the community risk register below:
