Assessment & Charges

Direct Payments

Direct payments enable the Care Trust Plus, after assessment of needs, to make cash payments to any disabled or older person so that they can pay for their own care and support arrangements.  They help people to choose the care they need at the time they need it and delivered in a way which best suits them.  A support scheme is available in North East Lincolnshire, for people of any age where they need home care, to enable them to remain in their own home. The scheme is administered by a company called Penderels (01472 500335) who will assist in the recruitment of suitable carers and in sorting out payroll and management services.

It is possible to access Direct Payments in a number of ways to meet your needs, and care management staff will be happy to discuss these options with you.

What Will It Cost?

Charges are made according to the ability to pay, and the level of service you receive and advice on benefits is readily available.

Do I Qualify For Help?

To decide on the appropriate action in response to a request for a service, the directorate uses Eligibility Criteria. This determines the appropriate level of service to be offered following the assessment.

The assessment is carried out to determine a person’s level of need and often will include input from a health professional.  An element of the assessment is that of assessing the risk faced by the person concerned. This will be used both to see if specific actions can be undertaken to reduce any serious risk and, by use of a Risk Assessment, to help in determining the priority of a person for receipt of a service.

Who Do I Contact To Get Help?

Simply contact the Care Management Service on 01472 256 256 . If you explain briefly the problems you have and/or the help you are seeking, staff will advise you on what you need to do.  Most assessments for help are carried out by visiting you at home.

If you cannot contact us yourself you can ask someone else to do so, such as a neighbour, doctor, or district nurse.

What If My Needs Change?

If you are already receiving services in the home these will be periodically reviewed to ensure that these remain appropriate, but you may inform the Care Management service of changes at any time.

If you are not presently receiving services and circumstances change so that you need help, simply contact the Care Management Service on 01472 256 256
