North East Lincolnshire Care Trust Plus has launched a new stop smoking campaign, called First Steps, aimed at pregnant teenagers.

Hollyoaks star, Carley Stenson (aka Steph Cunningham in the popular Channel 4 soap), visited Freshney Place on Friday 17th October, to officially launch the campaign.

The Hollyoaks star is the face of First Steps that has been created with help from pregnant teenagers in Grimsby. The actress features on new campaign materials including a poster and an informative magazine called FS.  In addition, a new text messaging service has been introduced to encourage more teenagers to sign up to the stop smoking service and receive support.

Teenagers wanting more information on the First Steps campaign or help to take the first steps to stop smoking, should call 0845 6032 166 for a friendly first chat or text FIRST STEPS and their name to 0750 099 2446 and someone will call back.  Local GPs, midwives and health visitors can also provide more information.

The Care Trust Plus also provides Teenage Pregnancy Advice through support and education.
