Do you want to promote a healthy workplace?
As its No Smoking Day on 10th March 2010, there’s no better time to kick the habit! Which many smokers want to but find hard without support this is why no smoking day is here to give them the best possible chance of success.
What are the benefits?
- A healthier workforce – Less sick days
- Increased productivity
- Reduced recruitment costs
- No ‘fag breaks’ - Less time away from work activities
- Better staff relations
- No cost to provide smoking area/shelter
- Reduced litter problem
- Increased profit - Customers will spend less time outside smoking and more time inside spending money
- Reputation - New employees and customers may be attracted to a company with a caring image
What can you do?
Promote No Smoking Day 2010 within your workplace – encourage staff/customers to give up smoking for one day and then the next and then the next…
If employees want to quit altogether introduce a Smoke free Policy to make your premises (outside as well as in) a smoke free zone.
Provide the details of the No Smoking Day website/telephone helpline for those who want more information and additional support.
Initiate a sponsored quit. The money collected can be given to a good cause of significance to your employees/customers.
Acknowledge the achievement of those who manage to quit on No smoking Day – ‘First Step Certificates’ are available on the website.
