How will Care & Support be Different in 2011?

The Care Trust Plus asked local community members, carers, staff, the Council and commissioning groups, what Transforming Care would mean for them in 2011.

Community Members

"We will be more in control of our lives and destiny.  We will feel like valued members of the community."

"We know we have the right to change our mind.  We solve our own problems."

"We have all our choices explained to us."




Carers

"We now have carer input into decision-making.  We can access information, training and equipment that
we need to provide the care required."

"We access assistance to recruit safe and skilled staff."

"We have accessible, meaningful information in areas such as benefits, transport, educational, employment, social and recreational opportunities."


Commissionning Groups

"We are engaged with our community and know their needs.  We have better support and services for people to remain at home and we know what is working from a public perspective."

"We have better support and services from people to remain at home."

"We can demonstrate that the overall health and well-being of our community has improved."


North East Lincolnshire Council

" We are led by community aspirations. We are closer to our communities."

"We have committed additional financial resources to care."

"We support self-help groups."


Care Trust Plus Staff

" We constantly develop more flexible services to make them more attractive to service users."

"We recognise a day is 24 hours and happens 365 times a year."

"We have staff trained to assist service users in making informed choices and managing risk."
